Microdermabrasion is a quick, safe, and effective form of exfoliation for all skin types and colours with no downtime and virtually no discomfort.
Approximately every 28 days we create a new layer of skin. As new cells form they push their way to the surface and then dead cells settle on the surface. This can cause enlarged pores, clogged pores, a bumpy uneven texture, and a dull appearance. As we age this process slows down leading to the appearance of older skin with less radiance.?
Men and women of any skin type or colour. Anyone with aging, flaky, dry, devitalized, thickened, blemished, and sun damaged skin will be rejuvenated and refreshed. Blotchy and uneven skin tones will also be improved.
The most common areas of treatment are the face, neck, shoulders, knees and elbows however any body area can be treated.
The recommended amount is 6. Treatments are performed every 7-14 days. Treatments are meant to be progressive not aggressive. Results are most noticeable after the 3rd treatment, although, it is common to see results after the first session. Maintenance treatments are suggested once every 4-6 weeks.
The average treatment session is 45 minutes, depending on the area.
If you suffer with cold sores, you should be symptom-free prior to a treatment to avoid the risk of spreading. Discuss with the technician if you have any of the following: Severe rosacea, dermatitis, skin cancers, bruise easily, inflamed acne, Hepatitis C, AIDS, or using blood thinners or Accutane.
If you use Retin A products or any skin care products that irritate the skin, you should discontinue use 2-3 days before and after treatment.
There is no concern if you are pregnant or nursing. If you use sun beds, do not tan for 2 weeks after a session.
If you are planning to have injectables such as Botox or fillers, it is recommended to have them 2-5 days after a microdermabrasion.
This gentle exfoliation is performed with a diamond tip passing over the skin’s surface by creating a gentle vacuum. Microdermabrasion exfoliates approximately 20-25 microns of dead skin cells of the outermost layer. One microdermabrasion is equal to three 30% glycolic peels or one 70%.
It is very important after to NOT EXERCISE. Where perspiration is created, you will develop a stinging sensation that can take several hours to dissipate.
There is little to no downtime. One may experience a slight tingling, and the skin may feel tighter afterwards. Skin may appear slightly flushed and this generally fades in 12-24 hours. You may experience peeling or flaking, this is a sign of the cell renewal process being stimulated. If flaking occurs, simply use an exfoliant recommended by your skin care therapist 3-4 days after the treatment.
It can be repeated as often as once a week. If you are looking for a treatment before a special event then this is the treatment.
The oxygen facial offers regenerative benefits. It restores cell nourishment, detoxifies the skin, rehydrates dry skin, stimulates collagen production, increases circulation, accelerates healing and improves skin texture.
A regular facial routine is more about skin health and maintenance than it is about luxury or pampering, although many do find it to be a relaxing,
enjoyable experience. Facial services help increase circulation and stimulate the skin. They can also help slow down premature aging and drastically improve conditions such as acne and redness. Facials are a great preventative treatment to help you beat wrinkles before they occur, and can also help you achieve lighter, brighter, younger-looking skin. In addition to healthier skin, many men enjoy regular facials to help minimize irritation, redness, ingrown hairs, and razor burn associated with shaving.
Generally, facials are recommended once a month. However, you can discuss your specific needs, desired outcomes and schedule with your
esthetician. Also be sure to ask about our facial packages, and save when you purchase and book your regular facials in advance.
Plan to arrive to your first appointment about 5-10 minutes early. You will need to fill out a form listing contact information, allergies and any
medications that you are currently taking. Then your esthetician will evaluate your skin using a magnify lamp, ask you about your goals for
your skin, and make a recommendation for skincare products and treatments to help you reach those goals. A facial generally consists of a
cleansing, exfoliation, steam (in the form of warm towels or a machine),massage and a treatment mask.
Plain and simple: healthy skin! And healthy skin is better-looking skin!
Some people see results immediately, and your skin should feel different right away. The skin feels, clean, smooth, hydrated, and reflects a new
level of health that’s visibly noticeable. If the skin has more advanced long-term needs, such as treatment of skin aging, acne or hyper-pigmentation caused by hormonal fluctuations or sun damage, results may not be immediately visible; however, skin health will continue to improve as you follow the advice of your professional skin therapist, and continue your home-care regimen.
No, but talk to your esthetician about what products you are using. Many products from drug stores or beauty counters contain ingredients that
cause or contribute to skin issues such as dryness, oiliness and redness.
Similar to the seasons, skin goes through its own fluctuations. Combine nature’s weather cycle with air conditioning and forced-air heating, and you have skin that’s constantly under assault. Cold winds and low temperatures can dry out skin, depriving it of balanced levels of oils, contributing to dryness, sensitivity and premature aging. Prolonged exposure to the sun causes water to evaporate from skin, which is why skin that has recently been burned or tanned requires more moisturization than unexposed areas. Forced-air heating also dries out skin: warm, dry air acts like a sponge, soaking up moisture from everything it touches.
For the same reason doctor and dentist check-ups are necessary: for better health! Skin is a living part of your body (your largest organ, in fact), that defends against environmental assaults and extreme temperatures. It helps eliminate toxins from the body, and it is continually renewing and protecting.
Eyelash extensions are an exciting new way to extend the length and thickness of your natural eyelashes. Eyeash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and luscious look. Eyelash Extensions are perfect for special occasions or for day to day wear.
Russian Volume Lashes consist of applying multiple lash extensions to each natural eyelash in a fanned shape. Volume lashes are extremely lightweight, allowing the stylist to apply 2-8 extensions per natural lash without damaging the natural lash. This is our sexiest look and while it takes a little longer to apply than standard, the extra time is worth it!
There are a variety of reasons why people get permanent makeup done. Many people want to save the time of applying make-up every day. Others want to change and/or enhance their looks. Sports enthusiasts and those of us who have very active jobs will go for permanent cosmetics as they are often unable to wear conventional make-up, also, there are people who need feature correction, people with allergies to make-up, alopecia sufferers, those with vision impairment who have difficulty applying makeup, all benefit from permanent cosmetics.
The application process for lash extensions normally takes minimum 1 hours and up, depending what set you are going for. Classic set can take anywhere from 60-90 minutes and Volume sets take anywhere from 90-180 minutes.
Although permanent makeup procedure is a form of tattooing, the pain factor is considered to be less prominent as the treatments are gentler and less invasive. Numbing creams are used to reduce any pain to make all treatments as comfortable as possible.
When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone’s experience will differ based on day to day activities but normally they last up to 3-4 weeks.
Eyelash extensions are available in a number of lengths, thickness and curls. We normally consult with you first to see what type of style you are interested in. We also determine what your lashes can hold in regards to size. Each person’s lashes will vary in strength and length. We take this into consideration when creating a look for you. The overall look of the lashes is very natural.
Brows and eye treatments tend to look darker in color immediately after the procedure, while lip color can look more intense. This softens in a few days. Lips are likely to have some residual swelling and pealing. There may be some slight swelling after eyeliner treatments but this is usually limited. Our Permanent Makeup Artist will go over an after care sheet after every treatment.
Every person is different, but as a general rule the surface skin heals between 3-7 days after the treatment, and 10-14 days below the surface. People can return to work the same day after a treatment.
Initial appointment takes on average two hours including consultation and the procedure itself. For each follow-up technician usually allocates one hour, taking into consideration the numbing and the amount of touch-up needed to be done.
You can wear mineral makeup immediately after the treatment. However, you need to wait until the treatment area has healed before wearing traditional makeup. If applying traditional makeup elsewhere, ensure you don’t get any in the treatment area, as this could lead to healing problems. Permanent cosmetics are typically used to enhance your natural features, therefore after your treatment area has healed, you can wear makeup to complement and enhance your permanent makeup.
Results vary from person to person because skin type, diet, genetics and environmental factors can all contribute to how long the pigments will be retained. On average, it could be anything between one to five years before a new treatment is required, although refresher color boosts are recommended for maintenance during this time. Once the color starts to change you will know that you are ready for your refresher color touch-up. It is important to remember that permanent make-up is a “low” -not a “no” -maintenance treatment.
As long as proper sterilization and disinfection guidelines are met, permanent makeup procedure is completely safe.
Although the procedure is considered permanent, these procedures do have flexibility in changing color and shape to some extent, depending on the expertise of your technician. Colors will appear darker immediately following the procedure but will soften and lighten during the healing process. It takes time to become acclimated to a new look (very often this applies to eyebrows which were thin and unnoticeable before the permanent makeup procedure.) Eyeliner color is more evident due to the contrast to the skin color. Lip color can take up to six weeks to reflect the final color. Be patient. After the procedure has healed, and you are able to make an informed decision about the healed version of the procedure you can come to your technician for any necessary touch-ups and color corrections.
The possibility that you would have any problems or reactions from these procedures is almost non-existent with today’s health standards. Post procedural instructions, if followed carefully, will greatly reduce any risk. Medical problems associated with permanent cosmetics are often linked to poor attention to the required aftercare process on behalf of the client. Choose a time for procedures when you feel confident you can follow the simple, but very important after care instructions.
Often the tattooed color is not perfect after the initial procedure heals. Permanent makeup procedure is a process and at least one follow-up to the initial treatment should be scheduled. It is recommended that any required detail work to the original procedure be performed no sooner than four weeks after the original procedure. The minimum standard for follow-up detail work for lip procedures is six weeks. Lips have a different healing agenda than procedures performed on other parts of the face due to their delicate nature. The cited time frames will vary depending on the health profile and age of the client, but these are good minimum standards for consideration.
A warmed sugar paste is massaged onto the skin and then removed with a flicking motion of the wrist extracting hair from the follicle in the direction of the hair growth. The sugar paste lubricates the follicles and gently slides the hair out in the natural direction of growth so there is no pulling on the skin and hair breakage. That can mean no more ingrown hairs with proper post skin care. Regular body sugaring treatments leads to reduced hair growth meaning less hair, fewer treatments and a decrease in any discomfort.
The sugar paste is NEVER hot. The paste is applied at a lukewarm temperature.
Many clients describe their sugaring experiences as less painful than waxing. With sugaring, any post treatment residual redness, if any, diminishes much more quickly. Keep in mind that hair is being removed from the follicle at the root so the extraction is not completely sensation-free.
We suggest hair growth length of 1/8”, but not longer than 1/4”.
24 hours prior to your appointment, gently exfoliate and re-hydrate your skin. It is recommended that you arrive at your appointment with clean skin without lotions, deodorants or oils.
The very best results begin with skin care at home. Between treatments keep your skin exfoliated and well-hydrated. Also, never use a razor, depilatory creams or tweezers. This will interfere with the refinement and diminishment of your hair growth and your goal to have smooth and healthy skin.
For most services we recommend coming in every 4- 5 weeks for best results. Timing may vary depending on your growth cycle and how long you’ve been sugaring.
We do not recommend shaving between appointments as it causes the hair to grow back darker, stronger and more coarse-feeling.
For a “Bikini Line”, we’ll clean up just the sides and top of your bikini line, anything that would show while wearing a bathing suit. For a “Bikini+” the sides and top, as with the “Bikini line”, but the thing that makes it different is that we’ll also do the back, in essence we’ll remove any hair that might peak out if you’re wearing a thong. A “Brazilian” is the removal of all pubic hair, although if you like, we can leave a “landing strip”.
Try to not get lashes wet for at least 24 hours
Use oil-free eye makeup remover
You should be able to comb through your lashes with a clean mascara wand
Avoid sleeping on your stomach to avoid pressure on the extensions
Avoid running water directly on your lashes
Do not rub, pick or pull your eyes
Only use water based mascara (optional). If applying mascara, do so from middle to tip avoiding the root area.
Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler
If you’ve never had eyelash extensions applied before then we recommend booking a full-set 2-3 weeks before your wedding date or departure date at the latest. And then to book a fill 2 or 3 days before the date. This will allow time to experiment with different lashes, learn proper aftercare and ensure there are no allergies to the product.
1. Please refrain from applying eye makeup prior to coming in for the eyelash extensions procedure. The extensions are connected with glue and therefore any debris may shorten the lifecycle of the extensions and cause them to fall off earlier. In the case makeup application is inevitable, we do have makeup remover and face wash available at our office for your convenience.
2. We recommend that you remove your contact lenses prior to receiving the procedure because your eyes will be closed while receiving your eyelash extensions and your contact lens may cause eye dryness. Removing contacts will remarkably increase comfort level.
If you have any eye sensitivities we do recommend you to book an appointment for a ‘Patch Test’ first. During this appointment we will have a consultation with you and apply a small amount of product to your eyelashes or sensitive skin to test whether you are a good candidate for the service.
The biggest myth is that eyelash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. If applied correctly and properly, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Be sure not to rub your eyes or tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes. If lashes are applied properly and to each individual lash, they won’t fall out.
The process is very similar to eyelash extensions; the individual brow hairs (which are made from synthetic hair fibers) are attached to your natural brow hair and/or skin by a brow technician who will carefully amplify your brows and fill in any noticeable gaps. We can even extend your eyebrow tips if yours are on the short side.
Eyebrow extensions do not last as long as eyelash extensions. They usually come of within 2-3 weeks. To maintain brow extensions, we recommend to come in for a refills every 2 to 2.5 weeks.
The application process for eyebrow extensions can take anywhere from 60-90 minutes.
One to three weeks, depending on how careful you are with your eyebrow extensions. As with eyelash extensions, you need to be gentle with them; avoid scrubbing them when you cleanse your face and steer clear of oil-based makeup or skincare products when you’re wearing extensions.
We do not recommend using mechanical eyelash curlers on your eyelash extensions as these curlers will damage the extensions and possibly your own natural lashes. However, the extensions do have a natural curl to it so there is no need for a lash curler.
Eyelash Extensions Results: You should be able to comb through your lashes with a clean mascara wand.
Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. Special care is required but overall maintenance is low. We do recommend however that you do not wash your eye area within 24 hours after the application.
Yes, even though mascara is not really required since the extensions actually give the illusion of wearing mascara it can be worn. It must however only be water based mascara. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF MASCARA. Waterproof mascara or any type of oil based mascara can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions causing them to fall sooner. Care also needs to be taken in washing off the mascara. Only use a water based eye makeup remover.
Anyone of any age can have eyelash extensions applied as long as there is a natural lash to glue the extension onto. Ladies who have undergone chemotherapy and their lashes are starting to grow back, are a great candidate.
We recommend getting a fill every 2.5 to 3 weeks for classic set. For Volume lash we recommend refills every 3-4 weeks as the Volume Set usually last much longer then the classic extensions. If you wait too long your eyelash extensions will fall out and a full set will be required. Your natural eyelashes fall off every 45 – 60 days due to the natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Other factors such as exposure to steam or touching your eyes a lot may cause the extensions to fall sooner.
